BIO
Jackie Boatwright is a former beauty queen, model, and talk show host. This native Georgian is surely a powerhouse of a woman: She is a business woman, mother, pastor, advocate, entrepreneur, film producer, and public speaker: Encouraging and inspiring audiences that range from churches, civic organizations, fraternities and sororities, to men and women’s groups.
In 2001, Jackie's youngest son, suffered a near drowning at his state-licensed child day care center. It would be this tragedy that would reveal that although the center was licensed it was not insured. Jackie led a one woman crusade for change to protect millions of children around the world. In 2004 her advocacy led to the passage of Juan's Law in Georgia. Her research revealed 41 other states with the same issue. In 2006, Virginia passed Juan's Law. Jackie traveled to the United States Congress where the United States House passed The Anthony DeJuan Boatwright Act in 2007 and again in 2009. The bill is presently in the United States Senate awaiting vote.
Jackie Boatwright was named Outstanding Georgia Citizen and Ambassador by the Secretary of State in 2005 and has received countless honors from governors, mayors and other political officials. Jackie is a licensed and ordained minister and Senior Pastor of HisWay Christian Church in Hiltonia, GA.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law, from the University of Maryland, a Masters in Business Administration from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education.
Jackie wrote a book entitled Juan’s Story, which is being sold and sought in England, Africa and Korea as it shares what one person can do through, Christ, passion and unconditional love. This book displays a love story so strong that it inspired the late Pope John Paul II to send apostolic blessings, and a Chaplain to used Juan’s Story to inspire his unit fighting in the present war in Iraq to believe in the impossible. Jackie Boatwright took a tragic incident and single-handedly turned it into a positive political move, changing state and federal laws regarding child daycare centers and liability insurance. The laws are named in honor of her youngest son, Juan.
Juan’s Story will soon come to life on the big screen as a feature film where Jackie will serve as executive producer. This spiritual based film stars many famous celebrities including gospel great Doug Williams of the famed Williams Brothers who is also performing a song on the soundtrack of the movie.
Jackie' political advocacy has been featured in Money and JET magazines, on CNN headline news and countless other media outlets.
Jackie is the CEO of Jackie Boatwright Enterprises, LLC the headquarters of Juanderful Records, Juanderful Hair Products, Jackie Boatwright Film Productions, Jackie Boatwright Book Publishing and Juanderful Apparel, a clothing line in development.
